Brainboxes world class Research and Development department has considerable experience in both hardware and software design skills. Covering chip design to board layout, including firmware, device driver and application software engineering - we have proven expertise at all levels of product design. The R&D team comprises 40% of all Brainboxes employees, many with two degree level qualifications.
All Brainboxes products come with free technical support provided by the same people who design and test the products. Many years of customer feedback has been used to establish rigorous real world test cases used in the development and proving of every new product. Brainboxes' production facility offers a highly flexible and responsive surface mount production line (SMT), capable of single and double sided assembly of all our own products.
Camera-guided precision placement of components in the 0402 size and upwards, with repeatability to ± 0.05mm, allows the Production Team confidently to handle all new product designs that flow from our Design team; our manufacturing assembly line offers rapid changeovers between products, and combined placement rates up to 28,000 components per hour (cph).
Well established Lean Six Sigma practices are an integral part of everyday working ensuring maximum machine utilisation and quality throughput every time. The whole facility is designed to respond effectively to customer orders of whatever size, from small requirements to large volume rollouts.

Who We Are
Eamonn Walsh - Chairman and Managing Director
Eamonn has over 30 years experience of in/out communications products for computers. He graduated from Liverpool University with a degree in Physics and a Masters in Electronics Engineering and Electronics. Eamonn founded Brainboxes in 1984. He has guided the product strategy, working closely with the sales and marketing team. Visiting customers and sharing the company roadmap has resulted in the development of many excellent new products.
Patricia Walsh - Financial Director
Pat is a Science graduate from the University of Liverpool and has supported and worked closely with her husband Eamonn as they set up the Company in 1984. She is responsible for all the accounts functions including the successful implementation of major improvements to Brainboxes corporate software in 2000. She holds CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants) further advanced accountancy qualifications.
Owen Scullion - Sales Manager
Owen joined the Brainboxes sales team in 2000 and took on the role of Sales Manager late in 2001. Formerly a senior manager with Kodak, as well as successfully running his own company for many years, he has been instrumental in the negotiation of contracts with large corporate clients for Brainboxes.
