WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) Directive (2002/96/EC)
All Brainboxes products are covered by the Requirements of the WEEE Directive 2002/96/EC (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment). They should not be disposed of as unsorted municipal waste, as indicated by the crossed out 'wheeled bin' symbol. Disposal should be arranged in accordance with local arrangements.
The WEEE directive has been introduced to reduce the amount of waste arising from electrical and electronic equipment and also to improve the environmental performance of everyone involved in the electronics industry.
The WEEE Directive will affect anyone involved in manufacturing, selling, distributing, recycling or treating electrical and electronic equipment. Brainboxes takes full responsibility for treating and recycling their waste.
In order to prevent the generation of hazardous waste Brainboxes has replaced heavy metals such as lead, mercury and cadmium, according to Directive 2002/95/EC. As a company committed to the compliancy of the WEEE Directive, Brainboxes is responsible for recycling electronic equipment and will also continually design our equipment in a more environmentally efficient way.
